What you and your pet should expect during an appointment with Dr. Brewer

  1. Your pet will have a complete and detailed cardiovascular examination performed. This involves carefully listening to heart and lung sounds and palpating (feeling) pulses.
  2. An electrocardiogram (EKG/ECG) evaluating the electrical rhythm of your pet’s heart will be recorded. Occasionally, arrhythmias accompany certain heart diseases and require treatment.
  3. A comprehensive echocardiogram (ultrasound of the heart) evaluating the structure and function of the heart will also be performed. This will help guide Dr. Brewer’s treatment for your pet.
  4. Finally, a thorough report detailing the examination and echocardiographic findings, clinical assessment, prognosis, medications (if needed), and follow-up appointments will be provided.
